Costco Very Berry Sundae

Pre-covid existed one of the best Costco items every to have existed. Better than the combo pizza. Better than the old style of chicken bake. And, dare I say, better than the $1.50 hot dog.

That is the Very Berry Sundae. A mixture of soft serve and strawberry syrup, expertly intertwined like a pair of gold-medalist figure skaters who practice their whole life together. The strawberry bits in the thick syrup provided such a subtle but well-needed contrast that you wouldn't even think about at first. As you get into your car and pack all your bulk items away, the sundae melts away and blends with the syrup forming what might be the hidden menu item that is a simple strawberry ice cream. Maybe a milk shake if you really stir it.

This was my jam. I lived near a Costco in college and my roommate and I would occasionally drive down to the food court and try to sneak in with my mom's Costco membership to score a meal under $10.

Good times. Rip in peace, very berry sundae. And the combo pizza. And the old chicken bake. Gone too soon.
